Desi-Rae Young has been named Mountain West Women's Basketball Player of the Week.
Against Hawaii, Young led the Lady Rebels with 20 points, scoring 10 straight in the third quarter to build a lead that UNLV never relinquish after being tied 26-26 at halftime.
The Las Vegas native also had four rebounds, one block and one steal in the contest. Young shot 64 percent (7 of 11) from the field and was 6-of-9 at the free throw line.
It's Young's third career Mountain West weekly award and second this season.
Young and the Lady Rebels start conference play Tuesday, Dec. 28, at Fresno State. The game will be stream live on the Mountain West Network. Tip off is 6 p.m. PT.
