LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team lost 4-2 to NAU Friday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex in a match that included a more than two-hour rain delay.

The Rebels fell to 2-4 on the year while the Lumberjacks improved to 6-3.

Already pushed to the afternoon because of early rains in the area, UNLV opened by taking the doubles point with wins on courts one and three. The hosts upped their lead to 2-0 but then, after NAU tied the score, rains forced the teams off the courts for the extended break.

The visitors, who rallied to win three first sets via tiebreaker, finished under the lights by quickly closing things out with a pair of straight-set victories to reach the required four points.

REBEL OF THE MATCH: Freshman Zita Kovacs continued to impress, teaming with Aura Fang for a 6-1 win at the third doubles position and then blanking Ava Neyestani in singles on court four, 6-0,6-0.

UP NEXT: UNLV will host Wayne State University on Sunday at 11 a.m. At this time no fans are allowed at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
