LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – Former UNLV quarterback Max Gilliam and defensive lineman Nate Neal were both announced as members of the 2021 National Football Foundation Hampshire Honor Society Wednesday.
 
The group is comprised of college football players from all divisions of play who maintained at least a cumulative 3.2 grade point average throughout their college career. Players from 256 schools qualified for membership as the society celebrated its 15th year.
 
Qualifications for membership in the NFF Hampshire Honor Society include being a starter or significant contributor in the last year of eligibility at an NCAA FBS, FCS, Division I, Division II, Division III or an NAIA college or university, and meeting all mandated progress towards degree requirements.
 
Gilliam (Thousand Oaks, CA) was a two-time letterman for the Rebels after transferring from junior college, including starting all six games behind center in 2020. The economics major was part of a program-record 70 Rebels recently named to the Academic All-Mountain West Team.
 
Neal (Montclair, CA) was a four-year letterman who was slowed by injuries during his senior campaign. The psychology major was a three-time academic all-conference honoree.
