BRYAN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team shot an opening-round 18-over-par 306 Friday at the The Aggie Invitational, which is being hosted by Texas A&M and played at the Traditions Golf Club (par 72, 7,227 yards).
No. 5 Texas was the only team to shoot under par on the first day as the Longhorns lead the team standings by seven shots at 5-under 283. No. 1 Oklahoma and host No. 12 Texas A&M are both tied for second at 2-over, while Louisville is fourth at 4-over and Houston rounds out the top five at 7-over. UNLV is in 13th place at the 17-team event.
Texas' Pierceson Coody leads all individuals at 6-under 66. Houston's Alexander Frances is second at 5-under, while Texas A&M's Sam Bennett is third at 4-under.
UNLV was led individually by senior 
Jack Trent, who is tied for 12th at even-par 72. senior 
J.J. Gresco is tied for 21st at 2-over, junior 
David Rauch is tied for 72nd at 7-over, sophomore 
George Leigh is tied for 81st at 9-over and sophomore 
Jack Kozlowski is tied for 89th at 11-over. There are a total of 96 golfers competing.
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: The tournament will continue with the second round on Saturday and a final 18 holes on Sunday. Second-round tee times for UNLV will begin at 9 a.m. CT.
