Hall Runs Into 200m Semis At Olympic Team Trials

UNLV track & field’s Cassondra Hall will compete in the semifinals of the 200m at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials Friday.

EUGENE, Oregon (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV track & field's Cassondra Hall advanced to the 200m semifinals at the 2020 U.S. Olympic Team Trials following her performance in the first round of the event Thursday, which was contested at the University of Oregon's Hayward Field.

Hall, who hails from Warner Robins, Georgia, finished fourth in the first heat and earned one of six qualifying spots based off her time of 22.97. She is only one of six collegiate student-athletes – out of 16 total – who will compete in the 200m semis Friday (4:25 pm), and five of those participated in the event's final at the NCAA Outdoor Championships nearly two weeks ago at the same venue.

The Scarlet & Gray was also represented by Avi'Tal Wilson-Perteete Thursday; however, the native of Oakland, California, finished 25th overall with a time of 2:03.06.

The U.S. Olympic Trials will be broadcast live with NBC and NBCSN providing coverage, while NBCOlympics.com and the NBC Sports app will present exclusive streaming coverage of select field events.
