LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - Five members of the UNLV swimming and diving program, three from the men's team and two women, have earned CSCAA (College Swim Coaches Association of America) Scholar All-America honors, the organization released this week. This comes over a week after the women's squad was recognized as a CSCAA Scholar All-America Team for the 2021 Spring Semester.
Â
Vuk Celic headlined the trio of Rebel men honorees with his First-Team Scholar All-America selection, which also made him the WAC's only individual to receive that recognition this year. Additionally, senior
Jesse Cawley was named Scholar All-America Honorable Mention for the second time in his career and junior
Reece Hemmens received Honorable Mention for the first time.
Â
UNLV's women were represented by junior
Kristina Schneider and freshman
Calysta Bartlett, who joined their Scarlet and Gray counterparts on the list as Honorable Mention selections.
To be selected to the CSCAA Scholar All-America First Team, swimmers and divers must have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher and have participated in their respective NCAA Swimming and Diving Championships. Honorable Mention selections have similarly achieved a GPA of 3.50 and achieved a "B" time standard or, for diving, competed at their respective qualifying meets.
