Pair of First-Half Goals Pushes Rebels Past Weber State

Goals by Jaden Terrana and Jules Dominguez help Rebels earn their fifth win of the season

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's soccer team made its way back into the win column Friday night, jumping out to an early lead with a pair of first-half goals en route to a 2-1 win over Weber State. The Rebels move to 5-2 on the year.

Freshman Jaden Terrana tacked on the Rebels' first goal - which was also her first career score - from about 12 feet in front of the goal after connecting with a pass from junior Marcella Brooks in the 10th minute. The Scarlet and Gray continued its aggressive play to start the contest with its second score just under five minutes later, as redshirt junior Jules Dominguez netted her first goal of the year on the assist by junior Kaitlyn Kowalchuck.

Weber State (2-3) still continued to fight through its deficit and scored its lone goal of the match in the 79th minute, but UNLV held off the Wildcat comeback for the remaining 11 minutes of play.

Sophomore goalkeeper Taylor Book walked away with the win after making her first career start in goal for the Rebels. She finished the night with seven saves in 90 minutes of action.

The Rebels remain home for a matchup with New Mexico State on Sunday scheduled for a 1 p.m. start.
