LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — Desi-Rae Young has been selected the Mountain West Conference Women's Basketball Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Young, who received the weekly honor for a third time this season, averaged 17 points and 10 rebounds in road wins at San Jose State and UNR last week.

UNLV's sophomore center seized her sixth double-double of the year with a 15-point, 15 rebounds performance in a 74-54 victory over the Spartans.

Young scored a game-high 19 points, hitting eight of 11 field-goal attempts, in the Lady Rebels' rally over UNR on Saturday. 

The wins vaulted UNLV into second in the Mountain West standings with conference leader New Mexico visiting the Cox Pavilion Thursday, Jan. 27. Tip off is 6 p.m.
