SAN JOSE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's soccer (3-8-1, 1-2-1) was defeated by San Jose State
(3-4-4, 2-1-1), 1-0, on a second-half goal Sunday at the Spartan Soccer Complex.
The Rebel attack saw its best scoring chances in the first half with their only two shots on goal. Freshman
Cadence Whitley made her way near the left post in the 13th minute only for her shot to be deflected by the Spartans' goalkeeper. Her Scarlet & Gray freshman teammate
Kylie Camp also had an attempt from in front of the left post in the 44th minute that ended up being saved.
Another opportunity for UNLV's offense came in the 36th minute when freshman
Mallie Ramirez found herself one-on-one with the SJSU keeper inside the box on the left before her shot rolled far right.
In the end, however, San Jose State avoided another Scarlet & Gray shot on target the rest of the way and went on to score the game's deciding goal in the 74th minute.
