SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (4-4/2-2) returns to Mountain West play Saturday afternoon by facing San Diego State (4-4/2-2) in a battle of programs with identical overall and league records ... Coming off a bye week, the Rebels play away from home in back-to-back outings for the only time this season ... The Rebels, who already doubled their victory total from the last two seasons combined, most recently suffered a 44-21 loss at Notre Dame on Oct. 22 while the Aztecs fell at rival Fresno State, 32-28, on Saturday night ... In appearing at Snapdragon Stadium on Saturday, UNLV will play inside an opponent's new home during the first year it opened for the first time since traveling to Houston in 2014 -- the same season the Cougars opened TDECU Stadium ... UNLV is tied with two teams for sixth in the country with 12 interceptions this season ... UNLV's dozen picks are the most for an entire season since the Rebels finished with 13 in 2015 ... After being knocked out of the game early at San Jose State on Oct. 7 and missing 11 straight quarters of play, UNLV quarterback Doug Brumfield is expected to return to the starting lineup this weekend.

REBELS vs. AZTECS NOTES...
UNLV has played SDSU more than any other original MW team (31 times) and the Aztecs lead the series 21-10 ... Three of the last four meetings in this series have been decided by one score ... The Rebels are actually looking for their second straight victory in San Diego as UNLV won 27-24 in 2018 at now-demolished SDCCU Stadium. The teams' 2020 meeting, which marked Marcus Arroyo's debut as a head coach, was played in Carson, California, while Snapdragon was under construction ... SDSU's OC Jeff Horton twice worked at UNLV, serving as an assistant in 1990-91 and then as head coach from 1994-98, including leading the Rebels to the 1994 Big West title and a Las Vegas Bowl victory ... Aztec WR coach Hunkie Cooper played at UNLV at multiple positions from 1990-91 and later served as the program's radio analyst. He held the UNLV record for most rushing yards in a game by a quarterback with 165 vs. Oregon State in 1991 until it was broken in 2017 ... SDSU offensive analyst Gary Bernardi coached the Rebels' TE/OT from 2005-09.
