LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) –The UNLV women's tennis team closed out its fall tournament competition by completing the final day of the Watanabe Classic on Sunday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.

Joining UNLV in the lineup were competitors from Oregon, Iowa, Utah, Long Beach State and San Diego State.

Junior Salsa Aher took home the championship win in Flight Three of singles after defeating Andreea Velcea of SDSU, 6-2, 6-4.

In Flight Four, sophomore Coco Zhao took home the championship after taking down Pia Kranholdt of Iowa, 6-2, 6-3. Sophomore Cindy Hu downed Justine Dondonay of Long Beach, 6-3, 6-2, to take home third place.

The annual fall invitational was renamed last year to honor former tennis great Jolene Watanabe, who put the UNLV women's program on the map three decades ago and passed away in 2019 after a battle with cancer at the age of 50.
