SATURDAY'S PREVIEW...
UNLV (4-6/2-4) plays its final road game of the regular season by traveling to Hawai'i (2-9/1-5) Saturday night for the annual Ninth Island Showdown sponsored by The California Hotel ... The broadcast will be produced by Spectrum Sports on the islands but brought back to Las Vegas via the new Silver State Sports & Entertainment Network (SSSEN), which can be viewed on Cox channel 125 or over the air at 5.2 ... Fans can also watch on their tablet or mobile device by downloading the Team1 Sports app (not available on desktop computers) ... With this matchup being played on the UH campus site for the first time, this will mark the smallest capacity stadium the Rebels will appear in since taking on UNR at then-6,500-seat Mackay Stadium on Nov. 17, 1973 ... The Rebels, who already doubled their victory total from the last two seasons combined, lost 37-30 to Fresno State on Friday while the Rainbow Warriors fell at home to Utah State, 41-34 ... The Rebels have 24 sacks this fall from 11 different players. That is two more than the squad had all of last season and the most for the program since getting 27 in 2004 ... UNLV is also tied with two teams for 11th in the country with 13 interceptions this fall. That total is the most for an entire season since the Rebels finished with the same number in 2015.

REBELS vs. RAINBOW WARRIORS NOTES...
Hawai'i leads the overall series 18-13 but the Rebels have won 10 of the last 18 meetings, including last year's game in Las Vegas, 27-13 ... The home team has won this matchup in 11 of the last 13 years with only the UNLV 2016 win in Honolulu and the UH 2019 win in Las Vegas bucking the trend ... Five of the last nine games have been decided by one score ... Among FBS teams, only UNR is as old a Rebel rival as Hawai'i -- both schools first played UNLV in 1969, which was just the second year of the Rebel program ... UNLV has three players from the Aloha State, all of whom have seen time in 2022: starting C Leif Fautanu (University Lab School), reserve QB Cameron Friel (Kailua HS) and DB Kilinahe Mendiola-Jensen (Punahous School) ... First-year UH head coach Timmy Chang faced UNLV twice as a record-setting QB for the Warriors, throwing for a combined 716 yards but losing both times to the Rebels (34-32 in Honolulu in 2000 and 33-22 in Las Vegas in 2003).
