LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — So far, so good for the Lady Rebels in November. UNLV (3-0) next hosts Cal State Bakersfield (1-1) Sunday at 2 p.m. at the Cox Pavilion.

UNLV leads the all-time series versus CSU Bakersfield, 3-2. Desi-Rae Young scored 22 points to lead the Lady Rebels to a 71-56 victory last year at the Icardo Center.

Last time out, UNLV smothered Utah Valley 82-38 to start the season 3-0 for the first time in five years. Senior guard Justice Ethridge became the first Lady Rebel in 23 seasons to collect seven assists and seven steals in the same game.

UNLV returns 91 percent of its scoring from the team that swept the 2022 Mountain West Conference regular-season and tournament championships. UNLV is predicted to top the league again in 2023.

Young was selected as the conference's preseason player of the year. Fellow Las Vegan Essence Booker joined Young on the five-member Preseason All-Mountain West Team.

Ethridge, 3-point shooting leader Alyssa Durazo-Frescas and reigning Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year Nneka Obiazor are all league award winners returning to the lineup this season.
