Tournament Trot Begins Friday vs. UAlbany

Lady Rebels tip off UNLV Thanksgiving Tournament at 11 a.m.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — The Mountain West champions take on the nation's top mid-major teams, starting with UAlbany Friday at 11 a.m. at the Thomas & Mack Center.

UNLV hosts its Thanksgiving Tournament this weekend, an eight-team, winner-take-all competition that runs through Sunday.

The Lady Rebels and Great Danes have met just once before. UNLV took a 78-56 victory in the Contra Costa Times Classic on Dec. 3, 2006. UNLV is 4-0 for the first time in five seasons with four double-digit victories. UAlbany is 3-1 after falling to Colgate, 55-41, in its most recent contest.

Following UNLV versus UAlbany on Friday: ETSU faces George Washington at 1:30 p.m., Louisiana Tech and Stetson play at 4 p.m. and UC San Diego versus Illinois State wraps opening-day action at 6:30 p.m.

Daily admission tickets are $6 when purchased in advance online at UNLVTickets.com. General admission tickets at the door are $10 ($8 for seniors, UNLV faculty/staff and alumni). UNLV students and Nevada high school students (presenting student ID) as well as all children 12 and under enter free.

Broadcast Information

The game will air live locally on the Silver State Sports and Entertainment Network (KVVU 5.2, Cox 125) and stream online on the Mountain West Network (theMW.com/watch).  Play-by-play announcer Wyatt Tomchek and color analyst Jade Thomas have the call.

New for 2022-23

The Lady Rebels return 91 percent of its scoring with nine of the 12 players from its 2022 championship squad, including four starters and Mountain West Sixth Player of the Year Nneka Obiazor. UNLV added two freshmen, center Erica Collins and guard Jasmyn Lott, and graduate transfer Ashley Scoggin, a shooting guard from Nebraska.
