"NET" Gains
Part of the NCAA's NET rankings that have replaced RPI as a determining factor in tournament bids and seeding is points per possession efficiency. Through nine non-conference games in 2022-23, UNLV is averaging 114.7 points per 100 possessions compared to 90.2 for its opponents. Last year in non-conference play, UNLV rated 103.7 to 89.3. This is an 11 percent improvement.
Board Games
UNLV has rebounded 40 percent of its own missed field goals and 78 percent of its opponent's misses. When applying current second-chance effective shooting, UNLV has a 24 percent chance to score off its own miss while opponents have just an eight percent chance to do the same.
2021-22 Lady Rebels Set Academic Record
When the Lady Rebels broke decades-old records on the court during their 2021-22 championship season, they were doing the same thing in class. UNLV women's basketball was recognized in the Women's Basketball Coaches Association's (WBCA) academic honor rolls, the organization revealed July 20, 2022. The Lady Rebels set a program record with a 3.428 team GPA. That figure ranked in the 86th percentile of all Division I teams. Six of the team's 11 undergraduates received Dean's List distinction in the fall and spring semesters by recording 3.50 or higher GPAs.
