LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — The Lady Rebels leave Las Vegas for the first time when they visit former Big West foe Pacific on Saturday, Dec. 3. Tip-off is 2 p.m. PT.

UNLV (7-0) carries its best start in 32 seasons to the Alex G. Spanos Center in Stockton, California. Last season the Lady Rebels rallied from a 19-point third-period deficit to beat the Tigers, 80-79.

Under Lindy La Rocque, UNLV is one of the best road teams in the country, carrying a 19-4 record on hostile courts since becoming head coach prior to the 2020-21 season. Only four Division I teams (FGCU, Louisville, Stanford and UConn) have had fewer road losses than the Lady Rebels since her hiring.

UNLV leads the all-time series 22-9 and is 11-3 on Pacific's home court. This is the Lady Rebels' first visit to Stockton since losing to the Tigers, 69-65, on Jan. 2, 2000.

The short-handed Tigers defeated Wyoming, 67-53, before falling to UC Davis, 74-68, while hosting a Thanksgiving Invitational last weekend. Pacific has also counted a victory against another Mountain West squad. The Tigers defeated UNR, 76-71, in Reno on Nov. 13.

Six-of-a-Kind

UNLV is one of six schools with undefeated men's and women's basketball teams (through games played Dec. 1). Sharing 7-0 records, the Runnin' Rebels and Lady Rebels join Indiana, Kansas, St. John's (N.Y.), UConn, and Virginia with perfect basketball starts this season.

Thanksgiving Feast

The Lady Rebels defended home court to capture the UNLV Thanksgiving Tournament championship last weekend. 

Desi-Rae Young averaged 16.3 points, 9.0 rebounds and 63 percent field-goal shooting to lead the Lady Rebels to three wins in three days for the championship of the UNLV Thanksgiving Tournament.

Young scored a team-high 17 points (7-9 FG, 3-3 FT) with six rebounds in the championship game victory over Illinois State, 73-66, on Nov. 27. 

Young totaled a career-high 24 points and season-high 14 rebounds in the 73-63 win over George Washington on Nov. 26. Young scored 9 fourth-quarter points to seal a victory as UNLV forged ahead from a 54-54 tie to 10-point lead with 4 minutes to play.

Nneka Obiazor scored 19 points and grabbed a career-high 12 rebounds as UNLV topped UAlbany 78-55 on Nov. 25. Essence Booker and Jasmyn Lott each scored 11 points. UNLV led 19-8 after the first and 45-22 at halftime.

Triple Threat

UNLV's Thanksgiving Tournament sweep was a rare event in the program's 49-year history. The Lady Rebels won three games in three consecutive days for just the sixth time in 31 opportunities.

It was the second time this calendar year for UNLV, who won three straight in three days for its first-ever Mountain West Tournament Championship in March.

Before then the last time UNLV won three games in three consecutive days was Jan. 6-8, 1983.

No Second Helpings

Don't expect the Lady Rebels to share this holiday season. UNLV has dominated second-chance scoring by averaging 19.4 points to 4.0 points per game for opponents. 

UNLV captures 42 percent of its offensive rebound chances and grabs 78 percent of defensive boards.
