STILLWATER, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team, missing its No. 2 player, tasted defeat for the first time this season with a 4-1 loss at Oklahoma State on Saturday.
Playing indoors because of wind at the Greenwood Tennis Center, the Rebels fell to 4-1 while the Cowboys improved to 3-5.
The hosts took a 1-0 lead by emerging with the doubles point despite the Rebels leading on court three.
In singles play, UNLV earned its lone point when 48th-ranked
Christopher Bulus downed Alex Garcia at the top of the lineup, 6-2, 6-4. The match ended when OSU took a trio of straight-setters to reach four points.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Bulus and partner
Zach Garner were one game away from victory in doubles when the match was halted and then the senior swept his opponent in singles.
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV and OSU will stage an immediate rematch on Sunday starting at 1 p.m. PT.
