LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV track & field team will head back to Flagstaff, AZ for their final competition of regular season at the NAU Tune Up. The one-day competition will be held at the J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome Friday, Feb. 18, with events beginning at 12 p.m. (PT).Â
Action gets underway at 12 p.m. (PT) with the women's pole vault and other field events. The running events will begin at 2 p.m. (PT) with the women's 60m hurdles.Â
MOUNTAIN WEST RANKINGS:Â UNLV has a total of 11 student-athletes ranked in the top-20 for nine events in the Mountain West standings.
Cassidy Osborne-Butler currently ranks first in the weight throw (19.91m), while
Madelyn Wattles ranks 19th (14.58m).
Taylor Shorter is tied for fourth in the 60m hurdles (8.64),
Emma Wahlenmaier sits fifth overall in the 800m (2:10.19), followed closely by
Elisa Rovere who ranks sixth (2:10.54).Â
Natalia Ruiz sits 14th in the mile (4:50.36) and 18th in the 800m (2:16.10).
AnnaKay Maitland and
Karoli Kaart are tied for 12th in the 60m (7.69), Maitland also sits 19th in the 200m (25.16), followed by
Alia Scott in 20th with a 25.21.
Erin Thompson ranks 20th for high jump 5-01.75 (1.57m) and
Jaylen Walker sits 16th in the triple jump 37-10.5 (11.54m).
LAST TIME OUT:Â The Rebels closed out the two-day Texas Tech Shootout in Lubbock, Texas February 12, with seven top-20 finishes. UNLV competed against 25Â other teams, including BIG-12's Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech, Baylor and BIG-10's Purdue. UNLV was the lone MW representative.Â
