LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) — Mountain West champion UNLV finds little respite after claiming its first outright conference title in 32 seasons as in-state rival UNR visits the Cox Pavilion Wednesday night. Tip off is 6 p.m.

UNLV aims to sweep UNR in the Silver State Series, the all-sports competition between the two schools sponsored by IBEW and Nevada Donor Network.

The Lady Rebels will honor their seniors — forward Khayla Rooks and student manager Naomi Alvarado — following the game, as well as formally accept the Mountain West Championship trophy.

Before the game, the Lady Rebels will recognize Essence Booker for scoring 1,000 points in her career. Fans will also be able to pick up a red rally towel upon entry, while supplies last. The Cheyenne High School Band will perform during the game.

All fans are invited to attend a chalk talk with Assistant Coach Roman Owen. The chalk talk will begin at 5:30 p.m. in Cox Meeting Room 2. Cox Meeting Room 2 can be accessed via the elevator near the women's restroom on the Cox Pavilion concourse.
   
Admission to tomorrow's game is free for UNLV students and kids, as well as Nevada high school students with their High School I.D. Adult tickets are $6 when purchased in advance, and $10 each on the day of the game. Fans who purchase tickets to the men's basketball game against Wyoming that same night will receive free admission to the women's basketball game against UNR. Scouting the Wolf Pack

• UNR comes to UNLV having played two consecutive overtime games. The Wolf Pack fell to Utah State, 82-80, after two overtimes on Saturday after winning at Boise State, 76-75, in a single overtime Thursday.
• UNR sits third in the Mountain West standings, but need a win to ensure their place and seeding in the tournament.
• Senior guard Da'Ja Hamilton leads UNR in scoring, averaging 14.2 points.
• Freshman Audrey Roden comes off the bench for 11.0 points per game and is the team's leading 3-point shooter, owning 52 makes at a 40 percent clip.

Lady Rebels' last time out: UNLV 80, Colorado State 69

• UNLV captured its first outright claim of a regular-season conference title in 32 seasons after trampling Colorado State 80-69 Saturday, Feb. 27.
• Freshman guard Kiara Jackson came off the bench to score a career-high 20 points, including 17 in the second half, to lead the Lady Rebels' rally.
• UNLV won at Moby Arena for the first time since 2008, ending a nine-game losing streak.
• Colorado State led 41-36 at halftime.
• UNLV stormed out of the locker room, outscoring CSU 25-10 in the third. The Lady Rebels shot 10-of-19 (53 percent) compared to a 3-of-13 (23 percent) effort from the Rams.
• Essence Booker tied the game, 47-47, on a pair of free throws four minutes into the period and Nneka Obiazor followed with a layup that put the UNLV on top for the first time since the scoreboard read 3-2.
• Booker scored 17 points and Justice Ethridge added 13. Desi-Rae Young counted her 10th double-double of the season with 16 points and 11 rebounds.
• Khayla Rooks corraled 10 rebounds, matching her career single-game best.
• Colorado State led all NCAA Division I teams in fewest turnovers per game, averaging 9.9. But UNLV won the turnover battle Saturday, counting a season-low eight to CSU's nine.

• UNLV's 23-5 record is the program's best after 28 games since the 2001-02 season. That team finished 23-8 (9-5 MW).
• The 1989-90 Lady Rebels completed their season at 28-3.

Setting records in the classroom

• The Lady Rebels finished the Fall 2021 term with a program record 3.44 team GPA.
• Six players — Essence Booker, Alyssa Brown, Alyssa Durazo-Frescas, Justice Ethridge, Jade Thomas and Taylin Smith — earned Dean's List distinction (for undergraduates only).
• Graduate senior Khayla Rooks crushed it in her first post-grad semester, earning a 3.80 GPA in cybersecurity studies.

• The Lady Rebels have only suffered consecutive defeats once under Lindy La Rocque. 
• Under La Rocque, UNLV is 12-1 following a loss (in the same season of play) with an average margin of victory of 17 points in those 13 games.

• UNLV hovers at No. 80 in the NCAA Evaluation Tool (NET) rankings, leading all Mountain West teams by nearly 20 positions.
• UNLV 's position is about 10 steps higher than it was before defeating New Mexico on Jan. 27 and is 25 positions higher since conference play began.
