BOULDER CITY (UNLVRebels.com) - The UNLV men's golf team had three Rebels finish their final round Saturday at South Dakota State's Jackrabbit Invitational at Boulder Creek Golf Club (par 72, 7,402 yards).
Sophomore
Ben Sawaia was the top Rebel finisher, shooting a final-round 74 to tie for 24th at 8-over 224. Senior
Jack Kozlowski finished in a tie for 36th at 10-over 226, while freshman
Tommy Kimmel tied for 45th at 14-over 230. All three played as individual competitors at the event.
Texas State stormed to the top of the leaderboard on the final day to take the team title at 4-under 860 after an 11-under Saturday. Chattanooga, the leader after two rounds, came in second at 6-over 870 followed by South Dakota State in third at 10-over 874. Three players - Eastern Kentucky's Wills Gaer, Northern Iowa's Griffin Parker and SDSU's Ty Kretz - all tied for first at 4-under to share medalist honors.
UP NEXT: The Rebels will head to Tucson for Arizona's prestigious N.I.T. Tournament at Omni Tucson National Golf Club March 18 and 19.
