Rebels To Search For New Head Coach After Hebert's Departure

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV Director of Athletics Erick Harper will begin a national search for a new head coach for the Rebels' storied men's golf program after Friday's departure of Jean-Paul Hebert to Baylor University in his native state of Texas.

Earlier this month, Hebert ("A-bear") was named Mountain West Men's Golf Coach of the Year after leading UNLV to the conference tournament championship and a third consecutive trip to an NCAA Regional under his watch. His 2024-25 Rebel squad made the school's 23rd appearance at the NCAA Championship as part of three trips to the postseason. Overall, he spent four seasons overseeing the program, having moved to Las Vegas following a long stint as an assistant for the University of Texas.

"I want to thank JP for all of his hard work in returning our proud men's golf program back to the national scene," said Harper. "We wish him the best as he returns to his home state, and now we look forward to finding the next leader of one of the sport's truly elite programs."
