BRYAN, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – A pair of Rebels finished with under-par tournament scorecards as the UNLV men's golf team's season came to a close after Tuesday's final 36 holes at the NCAA Bryan Regional hosted by Texas A&M at Traditions Club (Par 72, 7,270 yards).
REBEL ROUNDUP: Senior
Brett Sawaia led the Rebels with a tied-for-21st finish at 3-under 213 and his senior counterpart
Wyatt Plattner posted a 1-under 215 for a tied-for-31st finish. Rounding out the lineup were junior
Zach Little (+1) in a tie for 37th, senior
Trevor Lewis (+5) in a tie for 44th and junior
Mason Snyder (+8) in a tie for 54th.
FINAL DAY HIGHLIGHTS: As a team, UNLV shot its best 18-hole score of the week with a second-round 6-under 282 behind all four Rebels shooting par-or-better in the round. Sawaia tallied a 4-under outing for the day, including a second-round 1-under 71 before following that up with a final-round 3-under 69. Lewis put together an even-par day that saw him tally the team's low round at the two-day event with a second-round 4-under 68. Little registered a 1-under 71 and Plattner added an even-par 72 on their second-round scorecards.
FINAL LEADERBOARD: Texas won the team title at 45-under for the tournament. Joining them in advancing to the NCAA Championship were the Aggies (-40) in second, Chattanooga (-23) in third, North Carolina (-19) in fourth and Tennessee (-18) in fifth. The Rebels (-2) finished eighth at the regional site at 2-under 862 through 54 holes.
NOTES:
- The Rebels made their 34th NCAA postseason appearance.
- Due to forecasted inclement weather for Wednesday's scheduled final round, the last 36 holes of the regional were played Tuesday.
- During the 2025-26 campaign, the Rebels totaled six top-5 team performances, including a win at NB3 Matchplay at Twin Warriors in the fall and their Mountain West Championship victory via team playoff.
- Additionally, UNLV racked up four top-5 finishes this spring. Among those, the squad notched a tied-for-second finish (John A. Burns Intercollegiate), a third-place finish (Southwestern Invitational), a tie for third (Western Intercollegiate) and a fourth-place finish (Wyoming Cowboy Classic)
- Head coach Jean-Paul Hebert earned the Mountain West Coach of the Year in his fourth season at the helm of the storied Rebel program.
- Junior Zach Little and senior Trevor each received MW All-Conference recognition on the year.
