LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team downed Seattle 4-3 to close out a doubleheader sweep Saturday at the Fertitta Tennis Complex. The Rebels opened the day by getting by DePaul by the same score.
UNLV also swept a doubleheader on Wednesday and won its fourth straight match overall to improve to 8-7. The Redhawks, who are coached by former Rebel women's tennis star Kristina (Nedeltcheva) Hollander, fell to 4-13.
UNLV grabbed a 1-0 lead by winning two of three doubles matches.
In singles play, the Rebels picked up a trio of straight-setters to reach four points.
REBEL OF THE MATCH:
Christopher Bulus, ranked 76th nationally, teamed with
Zach Garner for a 6-2 win at No. 2 doubles and then swept Julian Worn at the top of the singles lineup, 6-4, 6-2.
UP NEXT: UNLV hosts Washington on Tuesday starting with doubles play at 1 p.m. Admission to all matches is free of charge.
