LA JOLLA, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – Members of the UNLV men's tennis team competed over the weekend in the 132nd Annual Pacific Coast Doubles Championship at the La Jolla Beach and Tennis Club.
 
Taking part in the nation's second-oldest tennis tournament, the Rebels had four duos see action at the storied open event, which included unattached entries along with reps from programs such as UCLA, USC, Stanford, San Diego, Villanova and Pepperdine.
 
"This was a first-class event, as always," said UNLV head coach Owen Hambrook. "Our thanks go out to tournament director Conan Lorenzo and his entire staff at the club for their hospitality."
 
Rebels Christopher Bulus and Zach Garner reached the Round of 32 before an injury ended their run. The duo earlier ousted the event's third seed, Jayson Amos and Alex Michelson, 2-4, 5-3 (2).
 
Milos Dabic and Anton Ornberg also picked up a win in consolation play, getting by Boston College's Shreekar Eedara and Connor McDonald, 4-1, 1-4, 1-0 (7-3).
 
UNLV returns to dual match action this week starting with a Wednesday doubleheader vs. NAU at 10 a.m. and then Illinois State at 3 p.m.
