Fioroni Stays Under Par Through Two Rounds At Stockton Regional

Sophomore Caden Fioroni shoots even in Tuesday's second round to remain at 2-under

STOCKTON, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) Sophomore Caden Fioroni shot an even second round Tuesday at the NCAA Stockton Regional to remain at 2-under for the tournament through 36 holes. Fioroni, who is competing as the No. 1 seeded individual at the three-day event at The Reserve at Spanos Park (Par 72 7,315 yards), is tied for 26th heading into the final round Wednesday.

The San Diego, California, sank three more birdies to bring his total on the week to nine. He is five shots off the lead, which stands at 7-under with six different players tied atop the leaderboard. Nineteen others sit within four shots of the lead, while four others are tied with Fioroni. Only one individual spot (not on any team that advances) is up for grabs to move onto the NCAA Championships at the end of May.

Pac-12 schools fill out the top three on the team side with Arizona State overtaking Stanford for the lead on day two at 21-under. Stanford sits in second at 19-under, followed by Oregon and BYU tied for third at 16-under and LSU rounding out the top five at 14-under.

Stockton is one of six regional sites in 2022 with thirteen teams and 10 individuals not on those teams competing at each of three regionals while the other three regionals will have 14 teams and five individuals not on those teams. The top five teams and the low individual not on those teams from each regional will advance to the finals.

UP NEXT: The final round begins at 7:30 a.m. Wednesday morning. Fioroni will tee off at 9:42 a.m.
