DENTON, Texas (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's volleyball (2-0) swept North Texas (1-1), 3-0, Friday night to finish opening day with its second straight win at the North Texas Invite inside UNT's Volleyball Center.
In a trio of back-and-forth battles, the Rebels prevailed against the host Mean Green in all three sets by scores of 25-21, 25-20 and 25-22.
Isabel Martin and 
Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos each paced the Scarlet & Gray with 15 kills and 11 kills, respectively. The Rebels were led by double-digit outings from 
Jhenna Gabriel with 30 assists and 
Maya Sands with 11 digs.
The hitting contest went to UNLV as it out hit UNT with a .260 clip compared to the Mean Green's .121 mark. 
Dakota Quinlan's match-best .364 hitting percentage and 
Jordyn Freeman's .333 hitting percentage made the Rebel duo their squad's leaders in attack efficiency.

	- UNLV returned eight letterwinners this season.
- Also returning to the squad from last season were Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos, Arien Fafard, Jordyn Freeman, Chloe Thomas, Isha Knight, Keyana Cruse, Dakota Quinlan, Livvy Setla, Isabel Martin and Thea Sweder. There are eight newcomers, which include three freshmen, a trio of transfers and a pair of graduate transfers.
- UNLV is led by fifth-year head coach Dawn Sullivan, who looks to guide her squad to the postseason for the fifth straight season.
