LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) -Â The UNLV volleyball team (11-3, 2-1) swept Fresno State (6-10, 0-4) in a quick three set match Thursday evening at Cox Pavilion.
The Rebels fought hard in the first set, losing the lead twice, but they came back to take it 25-18, before dominating the next two frames in true Rebel fashion by scores of 25-17 and 25-21.
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Redshirt-junior Isabel Martin paced the match with a match-high 13 kills.
The Scarlet & Gray were led by Jhenna Gabriel's match-high 33 assists, five digs, one kill and one service ace, while freshman Maya Sands tacked on a match-high 12 digs.
The hitting contest went to UNLV as it outhit the Bulldogs .327 to .127. Sophomore Dakota Quinlan's .750 hitting percentage and juniors Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos and Jordyn Freeman's .417 made the Rebel trio the squad's leaders in attack efficiency.Â
UP NEXT: The Rebels will continue conference play at home against San Diego State Saturday, October 1 at 1 p.m.Â

- Dating back to 2019, UNLV has gone 68-15 in its last 83 matches. The Rebels have won 11 of 14 matches this season and 37 of its last 46.
- UNLV returned eight letterwinners this season. Also returning to the squad from last season were Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos, Arien Fafard, Jordyn Freeman, Chloe Thomas, Isha Knight, Keyana Cruse, Dakota Quinlan, Livvy Setla, Isabel Martin and Thea Sweder. There are eight newcomers, which include three freshmen, a trio of transfers and a pair of graduate transfers.
- UNLV is led by fifth-year head coach Dawn Sullivan, who looks to guide her squad to the postseason for the fifth straight season.Â
- Junior Arien Fafard had her 1,000th career assist during the opening weekend of the Rebels' 2022 campaign at UNT.Â
- The Rebels defeated No. 19 Kansas on September 10, 2022, making that the second win over a ranked team since 2016. The first being then No. 25 Washington State during the fall 2021 season at the Rebel Challenge (Sept. 4, 2021).Â
