Women's Soccer's Clash With Fresno State Results In Draw

The Rebels earn at least one point for the third time in their first four Mountain West contests

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's soccer's clash vs. Fresno State resulted in a scoreless draw Sunday afternoon at Peter Johann Memorial Field.

The Rebels (5-3-5, 1-1-2) earned at least one point for the third time in its first four Mountain West contests with the decision against the Bulldogs (1-5-6, 0-1-3).

Splitting time at goalkeeper, junior Lucia Guemes and sophomore Hanne Breur combined for three saves to give the Scarlet & Gray backline its fourth shutout of the season.

On the attack, UNLV fired its way to advantages in shots, 18-10, and shots on goal by a 7-3 margin against a tough Fresno State backline that recorded the second shutout of its last three matches. Freshman Cassie Villanueva and sophomore Savannah Nichols each launched a game-high two shots on goal apiece.

UP NEXT: The Rebels now head out on a two-game road trip starting with a match at Air Force on Thursday.
