Rebels Return Home Before Starting Three-Game Road Trip

UNLV is set to host Utah State for Homecoming Week and Faculty & Staff Night before traveling out to Boise State on Saturday.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVrebels.com) – After competing on the road in last week's matches, the UNLV volleyball team will host their homecoming match on Thursday before traveling out again to start a three-game road trip.

The Rebels look to collect their eighth home win of the season, currently 7-1 this year in Cox Pavilion, as the Utah State Aggies visit Las Vegas for Homecoming Week and Faculty & Staff night on Thursday, Oct. 19. Afterwards, the team will travel up to Boise State to cap the weekend in Idaho as they face off against the Broncos on Saturday, Oct. 21. Both matches will be broadcast on the Mountain West Network.

LAST WEEK: UNLV (12-8, 4-4 Mountain West) faced two opponents on the road last week, falling to both Mountain West opponents in UNR (6-13, 2-6) and Fresno State (10-9, 4-4).

REBEL LEADERS: The Rebels still boast a top-three ranking in the league in the attack, sitting third overall in the conference standings in hitting percentage at .239. Senior Isabel Martin continues to rank among the league's best in offensive statistical categories, averaging 3.83 kills per set and 4.43 points per set (both second in the Mountain West). Livvy Setla's strong performance last week on the serve catapulted her into the conference's top five student-athletes in service aces, ranking outside the top 10 last week to now sitting fourth overall on Wednesday with a .44 average per set. Freshman Caleigh King also remains in the Mountain West's top-10 performers in service aces, sitting ninth with a .39 per set average.

Dakota Quinlan has raced back into the conference's top-10 hitting percentages, sitting fifth in the league with a .323 rate heading into the weekend. The junior middle blocker still ranks seventh in the league in blocks per set, now averaging 1.10 per game after recording six total blocks last week. Jordyn Freeman sits right above Quinlan on the year, her average of 1.13 blocks per set ranking sixth in the Mountain West.

ABOUT THE OPPONENTS:

Utah State (14-5, 7-1)
Sitting at the top spot in the Mountain West standings, the program swept San Jose State on the road and took down Boise State (3-1) in the Broncos' home court last week. The Aggies' front-line presence has boded well for them on both sides of the net in the halfway point of conference play, ranking first in opponent hitting percentage. Utah State has forced opponents into a .172 hitting percentage so far this season while holding their own .249 mark on the offensive side of the ball (second in the Mountain West). Kennedi Boyd leads the team in hitting percentage at .316, sitting seventh in the Mountain West overall. Shelby Capllonch (.52 per set) and Tatum Stall (.43 per set) have helped Utah State own 1.97 service aces per set, ranking second and sixth in the conference as individuals, respectively.

Boise State (10-8, 6-2)
The Broncos split their games last weekend, falling to Utah State (3-1) in a home match before traveling to San Jose State (3-0) for a victory to cap the week. The junior also owns the number-one spot in service aces, averaging .61 per set with teammate with Breanna Mitchell right behind her at .52 service aces per set (tied second).
