RIVERSIDE, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's soccer team escaped with a 1-1 draw against California Baptist as freshman forward Lucas Gélébart scored an 82nd-minute equalizer Thursday evening at CBU Stadium.
Gélébart's late goal helped the Rebels (5-5-4, 3-1-2) extend their unbeaten streak to five matches with their earned point against the Lancers (5-5-3, 3-1-1).
In response to CBU taking a 1-0 lead in the 68th minute, the Scarlet & Gray placed their stamp on the match with a setup on senior
Brophy Howard's cross from the left side toward the right post where Gélébart converted the game-tying score. It was Gélébart's second goal of the year.
Along with the scoring heroics, freshman goalkeeper
Hugo Lemos provided some fireworks for the Rebels on his penalty kick save in the 28th minute to keep things even in the first half. The denial marked one of Lemos' six saves in the match en route to his sixth outing this season with six or more stops.
UP NEXT: The Rebels will close out their regular season road schedule with a contest at Grand Canyon on Sunday at 6 p.m. PT.
