TULSA, Okla. (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's doubles entry lost in excruciating fashion Monday to close out the Rebels' stay at the ITA All-American Championships hosted by the University of Tulsa.
Anton Ornberg and
Jackson Atherton used a tiebreaker to take the first set vs. Rafael Marques Da Silva and Thando Longwe-Smit of Liberty in the Round of 64. However, they dropped the second set – also in a tiebreaker – and ultimately were defeated in a super tiebreaker to make the final score of the marathon match 6-7, 7-6, 1-0 (10-4).
Up next, UNLV will complete its fall tournament schedule by hosting the annual Larry Easley Memorial Class from Nov. 3-5 at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
