UNLV claims revenge in Cox Pavilion on Sunday against UNR, sweeping the Wolf Pack on a strong offensive advantage.

LAS VEGAS (UNLVrebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team (15-11, 7-7 Mountain West) bounced back on Saturday after a loss on Thursday, taking down the UNR Wolf Pack in Cox Pavilion in the two program's second matchup of the 2023 season. The Rebels only allowed 33 UNR kills in the three-set contest, putting up 51 of their own in the 3-0 sweep.

UNLV won on a final line of 25-22, 25-27 and 25-21. The Rebels didn't allow UNR to claim advantage in any of the main statistical categories, holding them to a hitting percentage of .164 compared to their .286.

Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos led the team for the second match in a row after earning her season-high on Thursday, registering 15 hills with an attack rate of .314. Isabel Martin followed with 12 kills of her own, Dakota Quinlan logging 11 off of 19 attempts for a team-high hitting percentage of .526. The Rebels' great looks came from senior setter Arien Fafard in match, totaling 40 assist for her first game of 40 or more assists in a three-set contest this season.

Fafard also picked up nine digs in the match for her sixth-straight game of nine or more in the statistical category, Isha Knight leading the team with 21 as the team's libero for the day. Martin also registering 10 digs of her own for a double-double in kills-digs for the match, those three student-athletes outing together a majority of the team's 56 total digs. UNLV also had a solid defensive stance on their opponent's serve, holding UNR to only one service ace across the three-set match, the second time this season they've had one or less in a single game.

Gabby McLaughlin led the Wolf Pack with 15 kills in 38 attacks, the next-highest total being six from both Sia Liilii and Hannah Platt. Hikialani Kaohelaulii totaled double-digit digs for UNR with 12 in total, Francesca King totaling the highest assist-rate for the team in 10.
