LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV's Anton Ornberg rallied in three sets on Sunday to win the top flight singles championship and close out the annual Larry Easley Memorial Classic at the Fertitta Tennis Complex.
 
UNLV hosted players from three other programs this weekend – Utah State, Idaho State and Louisiana.
 
Ornberg dropped the first set to Viktor Sklenka of ISU before winning it 4-6, 6-3, 6-4.
 
In Flight Two, Andreas Kramer of ISU flipped the script and came back to down UNLV's Aaron Bailey, 4-6, 6-4, 6-3.
 
"Congratulations to Anton on winning the tournament," said UNLV head coach Andy Jackson. "He has really played better and better as the fall has moved on. Aaron, Ty and Creed, along with the rest of the team, showed progress as well. It's a good group that is working hard to improve. My friend (the late) Larry Easley would have enjoyed the event."
 
The annual tourney was renamed in 2010 in honor of UNLV Hall of Famer Larry Easley, who passed away from illness in 2005 at the age of 57. Easley coached the UNLV men's tennis team longer than anyone in history and produced sometimes-spectacular results over his dozen seasons from 1993-2002, including producing five All-Americans and two NCAA individual champions.
