LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming teams will start their annual UNLV Invitational this weekend at Jim Reitz Pool as part of a four-day competition that runs from Saturday-Tuesday, Dec. 16-19.
The meet opens with the long-course meter (LCM) time trials Saturday at 2 p.m. PT. The remaining three days will begin with the prelims at 9:30 a.m. PT, preceding the finals at 5 p.m. PT.
Eight teams are slated to compete against the Rebels, including Arizona, California Baptist, Colorado Mesa, Hawai'i, LMU's women, New Mexico's women, Pacific and Seattle.

WAC LEADERS: The Rebel men have seven WAC-leading individual times this season, headlined by junior
Adnan Beji in the 100 breast (52.37) and 200 breast (1:54.16) and senior
George Ratiu in the 100 free (42.68) and 100 fly (46.82). Junior
Bryson Huey's 50 free (19.60) and Mike Breitbart's 200 IM (1:47.69), and freshman
Wikus Potgieter's 200 back (1:43.87) times top the Scarlet & Gray list of WAC leaders.
MOUNTAIN WEST LEADERS: On the women's side, senior
Blanka Bokros paces UNLV with the Mountain West's top-ranked times this year in the 100 fly (53.07) and 200 fly (1:57.09). Adding another pair of conference-best times, senior
Calysta Bartlett is tied for the MW lead in the 100 breast (1:00.77) and
Ruby Howell stands atop the league in the 200 IM (1:59.72).
REBEL RELAYS AMONG NCAA'S BEST: Along with their conference-best individual times, the Rebels have four relays that sit among the NCAA top-25 marks on the year. Among those are the UNLV men's 400 free relay (2:51.76) in 18th, men's 200 free relay in 22nd (1:18.01), men's 400 medley relay (3:08.07) in 23rd and men's 200 medley relay (1:25.46) in 25th.
ADMISSION: The cost to attend the meet is $5 per session or $20 for an all-session pass.
