Rebels Cruise To Home Invite Sweep

UNLV's men posted a winning tally of 1,065.5, while the women's squad scored 1,012

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's swimming and diving teams cruised to a sweep of their annual UNLV Invitational at Jim Reitz Pool against eight other programs over the weekend.

The Rebel men won by a wide margin after they tallied 1,065.5 points for a 284.5 advantage over the second-place finisher Hawai'i with 781 points. In similar fashion, the Scarlet & Gray women's 1,012 points gave them a 142-point cushion for the victory ahead of the Rainbow Wahine (870) in second place.

On Tuesday's final day of the meet, the Scarlet & Gray jetted to three individual event sweeps and five event wins.

Also competing against the Rebels were Arizona, California Baptist, Colorado Mesa, LMU's women, New Mexico's women, Pacific and Seattle. Out of that group, the Arizona men's squad, which ranks No. 18 in the latest CSCAA Top-25 poll, sent swimmers to the four-day meet.
