LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV women's swimming sophomore
Erika Carlson was named the Mountain West Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced Thursday. This is Carlson's first career weekly award.
Originally from Seattle, Washington, Carlson went unbeaten in her three events as the Rebels won the UNLV Invitational. She broke a nearly 12-year-old record in her 500 free (4:46.53) victory, while adding a season-best time in her 200 free win (1:48.11) and a personal best to tie for first in the 100 free (49.68).
The Scarlet & Gray freestyle specialist moved atop the conference time chart in the 500 free this season. Additionally, her 100 free and 200 free times place her at second in the MW on the year.
