ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (UNLVRebels.com) - Sophomore Rosa Santana represented the UNLV track & field program well Saturday evening at the 2023 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships, with a third-place finish and program record mark of 18.43m (60-05.75) in the women's shot put event.

The Dominican Republic native competed alongside fellow MW rival Gabby McDonald from Colorado State, as well as athletes from Big-Ten's Ohio State, Nebraska and Wisconsin, Pac-12's Oregon and SEC's Ole Miss and Florida. The two-day meet took place over Friday and Saturday at the Albuquerque Convention Center in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

This is the third time in Santana's record-shattering 2023 indoor season that she has set a program record in the women's shot put event, the previous being January 27 at the New Mexico Team Open (17.53m) and February 10 at the Don Kirby Elite Invitational (17.63m). All three meets took place at the Albuquerque Convention Center.
