Rebel Relay Squad Completes Trip To NCAA Championship

UNLV 200 free relay team swims to a 20th-place finish

MINNEAPOLIS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's swimming 200 free relay team completed its trip to the 2023 NCAA Championships Friday at Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center.

The Scarlet & Gray quartet of sophomore Bryson Huey (19.53), junior George Ratiu (19.36), senior Steven Butler (19.45) and super senior Reece Hemmens (18.96) swam to a 20th-place finish with a time of 1:17.30. In his final race, Hemmens anchored the Rebels with their fastest split of the day, registering a time of 18.96.

Their appearance at the national championship meet comes on the heels of a season in which they guided UNLV to a conference and school record (1:16.62) in the 200 free relay at the WAC Championships.
