SAN DIEGO, Calif. (UNLVRebels.com) — UNLV dropped both games of its doubleheader against San Diego State Wednesday at the SDSU Softball Stadium.
UNLV (19-20 overall, 5-9 Mountain West) was swept by SDSU (26-11, 10-4) 6-0 and 5-1. The Aztecs have won 10 of their last 11 games.
The Rebels return to Las Vegas to host Cal for a three-game weekend series starting Friday at  6 p.m.
Game One: SDSU 6, UNLV 0
Sarah Lehman (W, 9-3) pitched a two-hit shutout as the Aztecs defeated the Rebels 6-0. Mac Barbara ignited a four-run fourth when she homered over left center. Her two-RBI dinger was followed by two walks before Makena Brocki tripled.Â
SDSU added two runs in the fourth by hitting a series of four straight singles to move Bella Espinoza and Jillian Celis around the basepaths.Â
Game Two: SDSU 5, UNLV 1
Denise Armendariz's solo home run in the second was short-lived excitement for UNLV as SDSU answered with four runs in the bottom frame.
SDSU's Macey Keester drove a two-RBI single up the middle. Two batters later, Celis plated two more on a sacrifice fly. Barbara added a solo homer in the fifth inning.
The Rebels knocked six hits against Allie Light (W, 8-4) but batted 0-for-6 with runners in scoring position.
