COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's tennis team saw its four-match win streak snapped, 4-2, in a 4.5-hour battle waged at Air Force on Thursday afternoon (and early evening).  
 
Forced indoors to the Cadet Gym because of cold weather, the Rebels fell to 12-9 overall and 3-2 in the Mountain West while the Falcons improved to 12-9 and won their first league match in five tries.
 
Air Force took a 1-0 lead by prevailing in a remarkable doubles session that saw all three matches go to tiebreakers, including an 11-9 outing at the top position that helped the hosts capture two of three.
 
In singles play, the visitors evened things with a win by Anton Ornberg at the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-2, over Phillip Deaton. Aaron Bailey would later rally at No. 3 to give UNLV its second point with a 2-6, 6-1, 7-6 victory over Justin Waldman.
 
AFA eventually led 3-2, which meant a second shift of singles matches came into play inside the four-court facility and Mascagni would be the one to end it with a three-setter over Dusan Rsovac, 6-7, 6-4, 6-1 at the fifth position.
  
REBEL OF THE MATCH: Bailey was the lone UNLV player to win in both singles and doubles, teaming with Rsovac for a 7-6 victory at No. 3 and then rallying down 3-0 in the third set to earn the singles win.
 
UP NEXT: UNLV will close out its regular season by heading to New Mexico for a Saturday match against the first-place Lobos. The 2023 Mountain West Championship will be held in Las Vegas at the Darling Tennis Center starting Wednesday.
