Second-Seeded Rebels Await Opponent At MW Tourney

LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's tennis team won't have far to travel in pursuit of a league-record seventh Mountain West Tournament Championship this week.

The 2023 event, which has changed to include both the men's and women's tournaments, is being hosted by the Amanda and Stacy Darling Tennis Center in Las Vegas.

After enjoying a bye, second-seeded UNLV (16-3/8-2 in MW) will begin play on Thursday at 10 a.m. PT against the winner of Wednesday's match between seventh-seeded UNR and 10th-seeded Fresno State.

Friday's semifinals and Saturday's final are all slated to start at 11 a.m. The winner earns an automatic bid to the NCAA Women's Tennis Tournament. All matches at the tournament will be streamed on PlaySight. Links to the live broadcast and in-match stats can be found on TheMW.com.

Since the event's inception in 2000, head coach Kevin Cory has led his program to a sparkling 39-15 record in MW tournament play. UNLV has advanced to at least the semifinals every season except for three, including winning it all in 2000, '02, '08, '13, '16 and '19.
