LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV softball second baseman April Visser has been named the Raising Cane's Outstanding Rebel of the Week, the school announced Wednesday.
The award goes to the student-athlete who turned in the best individual performance during the previous week of competition from Monday through Sunday as voted on by the UNLV Athletics Strategic Communications department.
Visser, a Salt Lake City native, led the Rebels to their first Mountain West series win of the season against Colorado State. She either scored or batted in 12 runs in her 15 plate appearances versus the Rams. In Friday's victory, Visser batted 3-for-4 at the plate, hitting three RBIs and scoring four runs. During UNLV's 9-6 victory Saturday, Visser hit 3-for-5, including a home run and three runs scored.
