LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV women's soccer team suffered a 3-0 defeat to San Jose State in its Mountain West home opener Thursday night at Peter Johann Memorial Field.
The Rebels' (5-3-4, 1-0-2) seven-match unbeaten streak came to a close against the Spartans (3-3-5, 1-0-2) with their only blemish in September.
Despite the outcome, the Scarlet & Gray attack created several scoring chances for a 22-13 overall shot advantage over SJSU. Six of those were shots on goal, including
Cassie Villanueva's 74th-minute and
Jules Dominguez's 76th-minute targets that only came up short due to heroic Spartan saves.
