FORT COLLINS, Colo. (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team (11-5, 3-1 Mountain West) suffered its first loss in Mountain West play and had its seven-match win streak stopped on Saturday as it lost 3-0 at Colorado State.
The Rams (8-7, 2-2) won 25-21, 25-21, 25-21, out-hitting the Rebels .473 to .286.
UNLV was led in kills by Isabel Martin with a match-high 14, and assists by Jenna Howard and Arien Fafard with 18 and 16, respectively. Martin hit .400 (two errors on 30 attempts).
CSU's Malaya Jones led her team in kills with nine, while Emery Herman had a match-high 27 assists and Kate Yoshimoto contributed 10 digs.
The Rams recorded 10 more digs than the Rebel (30-20). There were a total of 17 ties and seven lead changes throughout.
NEXT FOR THE REBELS: UNLV will return home to the Cox Pavilion to host two matches next week. The Rebels will face New Mexico on Thursday, Oct. 5 at 6:30 p.m. and Air Force on Saturday, Oct. 7 at 1 p.m. Thursday will be the Dig For A Cure match and Saturday is Military and First Responders Day.
