LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) - The no. 25/23 UNLV women's basketball team suffered its first Mountain West conference game loss in two seasons, 69-66 to New Mexico on Saturday afternoon at Cox Pavilion.

Desi-Rae Young led the Lady Rebels (15-2, 5-1 MW) with her 42nd career double-double (seventh of the season) of 24 points and a season-high 17 rebounds (four offensive, 13 defensive), which is one shy of her career-high. Young shot 10-for-18 from the field, 2-for-4 from the three-point line, and dished a team-high four assists.
Alyssa Brown added 10 points and brought down seven rebounds, while
Kiara Jackson scored nine points and had five rebounds.

New Mexico (13-6, 4-2 MW) was led by Viane Cumber with 22 points, while Aniyah Augmon had 15 points and Nyah Wilson added 10 points, respectively.Â

BACK AND FORTH: The game had nine lead changes and six ties. UNLV led by as many as nine points in the second quarter, but the Lobos stayed close and were only down by six at the half. New Mexico tied the game 43-all in with five minutes to play in the third quarter. It all came down to the last 30 seconds of the game, as the Lobos were up by one, 66-65, but Young tied the game on a made free throw. With four seconds left, Cumber drains a three and the Lady Rebels were unable to answer with a three of their own.

- UNLV out-rebounded New Mexico 43-37.
- The Lobos put up 26 points in the paint, compared to the Lady Rebels' 18.
- UNLV recorded 10 steals, while New Mexico had nine.
- The Lady Rebels led over 30 minutes of the game and had a 53-52 lead heading into the final frame.
- UNLV's bench scored 16 points compared to New Mexico's bench with 10 points.
- In the last six meetings between the Lady Rebels and Lobos, each team has won three times.
