FORT COLLINS (UNLVRebels.com) - Five Lady Rebels were in double-digits as UNLV defeated Colorado State 83-78 at Moby Arena on Saturday afternoon. This is the third straight season that UNLV has started 2-0 in Mountain West play and the 26th straight win against conference foes under head coach
Lindy La Rocque.

Amarachi Kimpson came off the bench for the UNLV (12-1, 2-0 MW) and in a career-high night, Kimpson was tied as the leading scorer with a career-high 16 points. Kimpson shot 5-for-9 from the field, 4-for-5 from behind the arc and was a perfect 2-for-2 at the free throw line.
Desi-Rae Young also put up 16 points and had eight rebounds.
Alyssa Brown tallied her first double-double of the season with a season-high 14 points and a career-high 17 rebounds. Brown was 4-for-5 from the field, 1-for-2 from long range and was 5-for-7 at the line.

Colorado State (9-4, 0-2 MW) was led by McKenna Hofschild's double-double of 34 points and 10 assists and was the leading rebounder with seven. Cailyn Crocker scored 21 points for the Rams, respectively.
LEAD CHANGES: The Lady Rebels and Rams exchanged the lead 12 different times through four quarters and were tied twice. In just the second quarter, UNLV and CSU exchanged the lead seven different times, and the Lady Rebels favored the lead and went into the break with a 41-39 lead.

BACK-AND-FORTH-SCORING: UNLV started the game scoring four straight points, before Colorado State countered with five straight points. The Lady Rebels then put up six consecutive points to take a five-point lead at 15-10 right after the media time out. UNLV and CSU went end-to-end exchanging buckets, but UNLV held a three-point lead after the first 10 minutes, 23-20. Colorado State took a two-point lead about 45 seconds into the second quarter, but
Amarachi Kimpson drained one from long range to give UNLV the one-point lead, 26-25. The Lady Rebels and Rams went back-and-forth through the second quarter and exchanged the lead seven times before UNLV held a two-point lead going into the half, 41-39. Following the break, UNLV put up another six-straight points to extend the lead to eight, 47-39. The Lady Rebels led as much as by 12-points in the third quarter at 59-47, before the Rams started to cut the deficit. UNLV headed into the final frame with a nine-point lead at 66-57. The fourth quarter had the crowd on the edge of their seats as the Rams would get within five, but the Lady Rebels would put up another shot to keep the advantage between seven and eight points. CSU got within four on a three-pointer with less than 20 seconds left, but
Kiara Jackson was brought to the free throw line and sank one to give UNLV the 83-78 victory.

OTHER NOTES:
- Nneka Obiazor collected 12 points by shooting 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 from the three-point line.
- Ashley Scoggin was another Lady Rebel in double-figures, as Scoggin drained 10 points. She also had five rebounds.
- UNLV out-rebounded CSU 49-30. The 49 rebounds were the second-most this season for the Lady Rebels.
- The Lady Rebels had 22 second chance points compared to the Rams' two.
- UNLV outshot CSU 43.9% compared to 43.3%.
- The Lady Rebels bench was hot tonight putting up 31 of the 83 points scored today.
- UNLV has now earned a victory over CSU in the last five out of six meetingsÂ
