LAS VEGAS (UNLVrebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball team capped their rivalry weekend on Saturday afternoon, hosting the Utah State Aggies in Cox Pavilion.
The Rebels (9-6, 2-2 MW) fell on a final score of 3-0, the Aggies (5-10, 2-2) claiming the win. The Utah State offense took down the Scarlet & Gray's defense, the visitors hitting a .343 attacking percentage in the match against UNLV's .160.
Basia Latos led the Rebel offense with 10 kills, her fourth-straight match with a double-digit mark in the statistical category. Senior
Chloe Thomas followed behind with eight kills,
Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos totaling seven out of the program's 34 on Saturday.
Arien Fafard dished out a team-high 17 set assists out of the team's 30.
The defense featured double-digit blocks, earning 10 block assists and a solo block in the match. Thomas headed the front row with a team-leading four blocks, registering one solo block and three block assists.
Rheanna Deen-Jackson also found a trio of blocks, picking up three assists on Saturday.
Fafard led the team in service aces as well, landing a season-high three on Utah State. The graduate student's total marked the first time this season she's served a trio, the fifth time in her career.
Caleigh King topped the Rebel lineup in digs with 10 and a ninth-straight match with double-digits, Fafard ending on Saturday with nine to her stat line and Latos with six.

The Rebels will take the road next weekend for some Mountain-West action in California, battling Fresno State first on Thursday, Oct. 10. That match is scheduled to kick off at 6 p.m. PT.
