RENO, Nev. (UNLVrebels.com) – The UNLV volleyball competed in their final road match of the season on Saturday afternoon, visiting their rival as the final segment of the Silver State Series, presented by America First Credit Union for the season. The Rebels took down UNR earlier in the fall on a 3-2 final score in Cox Pavilion, looking to complete the season sweep.
The Scarlet & Gray (13-14, 6-10 MW) would do just that, taking down UNR (12-15, 5-11) on a 3-1 final score. The Rebels prevailed on the road with their .212 hitting percentage in the contest, forcing the opposing offense to a .099 hitting rate. The Wolf Pack's hitting mark is the second time in the season that UNLV has held their opponent under a .100 rate in a single match.
The Rebels' spread offense had three student-athletes in double-digit kills,
Chloe Thomas and
Basia Latos each owning 12 to lead the team in the statistical category. Latos' hitting mark was the highest on the roster, claiming her dozen in 23 total attacks for a .478 hitting percentage.
Gabrielle Arretche-Ramos totaled 11 kills in the match, including a key kill at 21-19 in the fourth set to push the Rebel lead to three.
The UNLV defense was just as strong, totaling 61 digs and 14 total blocks in the match.
Dakota Quinlan matched her career high in both total blocks and solo blocks during the match, picking up nine total blocks and three solo blocks.
Jada Ingram and Latos each collected five total blocks in the match, Ingram finding a solo block among her set.
Caleigh King represented the back line with 15 digs in the four-set match, Arretche-Ramos picking up a career-high 14 digs for the Rebels.
Olivia Mikkelsen also totaled double-digits in the statistical category, reaching 12.
Mikkelsen led the Rebels' offensive plan with a team-high 23 set assists,
Arien Fafard tallying 18. The Scarlet & Gray picked up three service aces in the match;
Alondra Alarcon, Quinlan and Fafard each grabbing one.

The Rebels will travel back to Cox Pavilion for the final weekend of the 2024 regular season, hosting Air Force and New Mexico. They'll first host the Falcons for Military Appreciation Night, taking place on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6:30 p.m. PT.
