LOS ANGELES (UNLVRebels.com) – The UNLV men's and women's diving teams collected five top-5 finishes on Sunday's final day of the USC Trojan Diving Invitational at the Uytengsu Aquatics Center.
Over the weekend, the Scarlet & Gray compiled nine top-5 finishes.
THE RUNDOWN – WOMEN:
- Leading the Rebels for a third straight day was senior Vika Yanovska. In the platform competition, she recorded an overall score of 397.75 to land in fourth place.
- Following closely behind was freshman Wylde Chupich in fifth place with an overall score of 397.70.
- Freshman Allyse Abbott scored a 373.40 overall in a seventh-place finish.
THE RUNDOWN – MEN:
- Sophomore Alex Vazquez earned a third-place finish on the 1-meter springboard, posting an overall score of 683.40. His prelims score of 355.40 broke the program record in the event, towering over his own previous record.
- Joining Vazquez in the 1-meter event, senior Dima Tereshchenko landed in fifth place with a combined finals (332.60) and prelims (279.70) score of 612.30.
- Sophomore Ronan Robinson rounded out the men's squad's trio, earning a 12th-place overall score of 498.30.
UP NEXT: The UNLV men's and women's diving teams will return to action at the Riverside Diving Invitational hosted by Riverside City College from Thursday-Saturday, Dec. 5-7at Riverside Aquatics Complex. On the swimming side, the Scarlet & Gray will get back to competing at the Minnesota Invitational being held from December 4-7.
