LAS VEGAS (UNLVRebels.com) – UNLV second-year assistant coach
Brennan Marion is one of five finalists for the FootballScoop Offensive Coordinator of the Year honor.
Marion, who also oversees the Rebels' quarterbacks, has helped the 10-3 Rebels to a scoring average of 36.2 points per game, which ranks 14th in the nation and would be a school record for a season. UNLV currently averages 251 YPG rushing, which would be the most at the school since moving to Division I in 1978.
In Marion's "Go-Go" offense, five UNLV offensive players earned either First or Second Team All-Mountain West this fall. That includes WR
Ricky White III, who became the first player in school history to post two 1,000-yard seasons, and
Hajj-Malik Williams, who became just the second Rebel quarterback since 1996 to be named either first or second team all-league.
Now in its 17th season, the FootballScoop Coach of the Year Program includes the only coaching honors with winners selected by their fellow coaches. Coaches must have been nominated by a fellow coach to be eligible for the award and each category's winner is selected by prior winners of that category.
The No. 24 Rebels, who reached 10 wins in a season for the first time in 40 years, are preparing to play Cal in the Art of Sport LA Bowl Hosted By Gronk on Dec. 18 at SoFi Stadium. Ticket information is available at
